Visit Wallingford Wineries
Wallingford, Connecticut may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of wineries, but the town is actually home to two hidden gems that any wine lover should know about. As a real estate agent who has been working in the area for several years, I've had the opportunity to visit both Gouveia Vineyards and Paradise Hills Vineyard, and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed. Gouveia Vineyards is a picturesque winery nestled atop a hill in Wallingford, Connecticut, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area and stunning sunsets. But it's not just the scenery that makes this vineyard a must-visit destination. Gouveia Vineyards boasts 140 acres and a wide selection of exceptional wines from rich and full-bodied reds to refreshing whites and fruity blends. Gouveia Vineyards offers something for every palate. A visit to Gouveia is sure to delight your senses and leave you with a lasting impression. . Paradise Hills Vineyard, on the other hand, is a bit more intimate. The winery is family-owned and operated, and the owners take great pride in their craft. The vineyard is smaller, with just 65 acres of vines, but the wines are amazing. Paradise Hills produces both reds and whites, but their signature wine is the Landot Noir. An Award Winning wine that has an Opaque garnet black color, with aromas and flavors of taffy, mocha, and green plums and cherry with a crisp, dry full body. A nice finish with well-integrated tannins and oak. One of the things I love about Paradise Hills Vineyard is their commitment to sustainability. While building the winery the Ruggiero family incorporated as much renewable technology keeping in mind environmental friendly practices. A geothermal heating and cooling system was incorporated in the building along with many recyclable products. They also host a number of events throughout the year, including wine and cheese pairings, live music, & book club for wine lovers. Both Gouveia Vineyards and Paradise Hills Vineyard are truly special places, and I feel lucky to have them right here in Wallingford. Whether you're looking for a romantic date or a fun outing with friends, these wineries are the perfect destination. So come and enjoy the beauty and flavors of Wallingford's wineries – you won't be disappointed!
